A woman like Mrs. Lalnipuii (55yrs) need not be introduced in Mizoram. She is highly fashionable and possesses an extra ordinary personality. She is a social worker of repute. Presently she is the elected president of Mizo Women's Union (MHIP) having served that post for the last 5 terms.

With 700 branches covering all the villages right up to Myanmar and Bangladesh border, it is one of the largest women organizations. One can say every Mizo woman is a member of MHIP. She is the first M.Sc.(chemistry) from Mizoram.

She left her lectureship in Lady Keane College, Shillong to actively involve herself in various programmes of women upliftment and childcare, handicapped people etc. She raised her voice against the atrocities of the patrilineal system of strict Mizo customary law being practiced in the state. Mizo women are suffering from gender sensitization.

She fights tirelessly for the modification of Mizo customary law where these laws fortified the women to own her children and property after divorce. She is ready to work herself out for the cause of Mizo women and is financially backed by none other than her husband Lalfak Zuala IAS, a retired Chief Secretary of Mizoram.

National Commission for Women recognized her works and conferred the 'National Commission for Women excellence Award' in 1997. She has visited Bangkok in 1996 to join the training on gender issues and has visited London 4 times on similar programmes. The hallmark of her life is the dedication for the cause of Mizo women. Now, she is free from fear and hatred.
